Providence Surgery and Procedure Center has an immediate need for a Registered Nurse (RN) Pre Op/Post Op to join our team!

Job Summary: The Perioperative Services RN assumes independent responsibility for the direct, primary care of patients through all stages of surgery, including but not limited to pre-surgery, procedure and recovery. The RN provides patients with skilled observation and intervention to meet their needs.

  • Organizes and prioritizes patient arrivals, expediting urgent/high priority patients to maximize effectiveness and productivity.
  • Complete pre-surgical/procedure assessment, pre-op screening of data and diagnostic testing, collecting subjective and objective data from patients, families and other sources to complete patient’s history forms.
  • Takes corrective action as necessary to adequately prepare patient for a scheduled surgery/procedure and to successfully complete pre-surgical/procedure preparation
  • Develops plan and outcome goals that are attainable in relation to resources available to the patient. Modifies the plan according to patient responses to medication and treatment, ongoing evaluations and nursing plan of care.
  • Administers and documents prescribed medications and IV solutions in a manner consistent with knowledge of purpose, side effects, contraindications and established guidelines
  • Informs and educates patients and families about medications and treatments patients are receiving, answering any questions or concerns with respect and patience. Provides psychosocial, spiritual and cultural support for patients and families based on assessed needs
  • Assesses, plans, observes and evaluates patients/family needs in pre-registration and through the admission process and/or the recovery process
  • Communicates adequate information to team members and follows up at regular intervals to monitor changes, obtain feedback, adjust the plan if warranted and provide ongoing direction
  • Monday-Friday work schedule!
  • NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours!
  • NO call required!

Pay Range: $33 - $54/hr

Required Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing school.
  • Current RN license in the state of Washington.
  • At least 1+ years of RN experience.
  • Current BLS – Healthcare Provider (must be AHA accredited)
  • Current ACLS - Healthcare Provider (must be AHA accredited) required within 90 days of hire.
  • Current PALS- Healthcare Provider (must be AHA accredited) required within 90 days of hire.
